STAR ISLAND 2026

STAR ISLAND 2026

Since its inception in 2017, this project has fused the traditional Japanese art of fireworks with cutting-edge technology, staging performances around the world. This year, it will introduce the largest number of new elements in its history, breaking new ground in fireworks entertainment. Centered around a 90-minute script structured around a narrative, the show features 12,000 fireworks, 800 drones, sound and laser effects on par with a live music concert, and—starting in 2026—a floating screen on the waters of Tokyo Bay, a live ensemble performance (strings, woodwinds, percussion, and piano) synchronized with the story, and fire performances on a floating stage—all of which are unprecedented in Japan. In 2026, the event will achieve a “dimension-breaking” evolution that far surpasses anything seen before.
